       This is to inform you that our CPPI Mid-year conference is scheduled on June 29, 2008, Sunday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Quezon City Sports Club, E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Quezon City.

We urge you to attend this event so that we will be able to discuss with you the important areas and programs that we are currently addressing and issues that we are focusing on to better serve the pawnshop industry.

       Taxation particulary:

  1. Minimum amount of documentary stamp tax coverage (acceptable to both pawnshop industry and BIR)

       Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' issues:
  1. Pawnshop franchising
  2. Collateral business of pawnshop e.g. money transfer and foreign exchange

       Amended rules and regulations covering pawnshop operation


We are also incorporating short business seminars in this event, which we believe would give us significant insights on how to create a vibrant pawnshop business.

The Chamber being the national organization of pawnshops in the Philippines is committed to further our plans and programs that will truly strengthen the pawnshop industry.
